About

Alhambra Palace Hotel

The Alhambra Palace Hotel sits directly beside the Alhambra, one of Spain's most visited monuments, with views that take in the city and the Sierra Nevada beyond. Built at the turn of the 20th century, its interiors draw on Moorish tiles and decorative mouldings, echoing the palace complex next door. Rooms are spacious and soundproofed, many with views, and the terrace bar is a draw in its own right.

The hotel offers a restaurant, a snack bar and a terrace, plus a fitness centre, meeting rooms and a paid airport shuttle. Families have one-bedroom suites with extra single beds, and disabled guests are catered for with accessible rooms and facilities. Parking is by paid valet, and an EV charging station is available.

In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Unbeatable position beside the Alhambra — The hotel sits right at the Alhambra, with guests repeatedly noting the under-5-minute walk to the monument and sweeping views over the city and mountains from rooms and the terrace.
  • Distinctive Moorish-inspired architecture — Interiors echo the Alhambra with decorative tiles and mouldings, creating a sense of place that guests call enchanting and reminiscent of turn-of-the-century decadence.
  • Strong dining and terrace experience — Breakfast earns consistent praise for its variety and traditional spread, and the terrace bar is singled out as a relaxed spot for drinks with a view.
  • Attentive, friendly service — Staff receive repeated mentions for being charming, helpful and friendly, including arranging secure parking and providing nightly touches like water and chocolates.

Worth weighing

3 to weigh
  • Rooms and cleanliness trail other categories — While the guest rating sits at 8.8, the Rooms and cleanliness category scores just 6 out of 10. Reviews mention clean rooms, but some may find the condition less polished than expected for the price.
  • Limited parking with valet only — Parking is paid valet, and a recurring comment notes there is little on-site space, although staff will park your car securely.
  • Price point is high — Rates start at £429 per night, which places it firmly at the top end of Granada's market. The Price and service category scores 7 out of 10, reflecting some sensitivity on cost.

“Our room was neat and had stunning views. Overall the service was wonderful.”

8.8Verified guest

“The staff were charming, the place was beautiful, and the rooms were spotless and well cared for, with two bottles of water and two chocolates left each night. Comfortable mattress and pillow menu, and a delicious breakfast with a great assortment of pastries, breads, cheeses, and hot dishes that never ran out. A suggestion would be a wider olive oil selection – only one brand of Arbequina – and more variety, like some other hotels. The proximity to the Alhambra is unbeatable, less than a 5-minute walk, and the centre is a short bus ride. I'd recommend taking the bus downhill from the hotel – it stops right at the door and is much easier given the cut-off streets and central parking restrictions.”

8.8Verified guest

“This hotel is lovely because it recreates the atmosphere of its surroundings, right next to the Alhambra. Very nice views, a relaxed vibe for drinks on the terrace, and overall very good. Spacious, clean rooms, a large clean bathroom, and friendly housekeeping staff.”

8.8Verified guest

“Spectacular location, great views, a wonderful room out of a storybook, friendly and helpful staff, and both casual outdoor and fine dining. Breakfast was terrific. I can't think of a better travel experience.”
